È il nome abbreviato con cui si indica una breve nervatura trasversa dell'ala che si estende tra Sc e R1 ricorrente in alcuni gruppi primitivi, sia tra i Ditteri inferiori, sia tra i Brachiceri inferiori. Questa vena non è menzionata da Comstock, 1918a, che, in alcuni disegni riferiti alla venatura dei Ditteri, la indica come ramo posteriore di Sc confluente su R1 (Comstock, 1918b). Analoga identificazione si riscontra in Alexander, 1927 e Hennig, 1954.
L'identificazione come vena trasversa subcostale-radiale è riportata invece da McAlpine, 1981, Merz & Haenni, 2000, Saigusa, 2006, Cumming & Wood, 2009.
